Firstly...what's a credit?
Good question! The only cost involved with Invitbox is when you export your bills. To be able to export a bill you will need to pre-purchase credits. It costs one credit to export one bill from invitbox. So if you wanted to export 25 invoices, you would need to own 25 credits.
How do I buy them?
Purchasing credits is self service with payment via PayPal. You don't have to have a PayPal account to buy credits, as it depends on which credit option you choose: You can pay by credit card for Bulk Buy OR with your PayPal account for Monthly Plans. [More info is provided below]
How many credits should I buy?
If you click on this link: PRICING & CALCULATOR you can use our calculator to figure this out. Just enter how many bills you process monthly and we will suggest to you what payment options might best suit your needs and it will also show you our pricing plans.
What if you dont know how many bills you process monthly?
Then you can check your credit usage in your account: [if you have a group of linked accounts you need to log into the 'Parent' account]
- Login then go to the Admin tab>
- Account Summary; Edit>
- Transaction History; View>
- then at the top you can search various ways; Date range, Number of days etc. Or if you have grouped accounts you can also select which companies usage to view.
Invitbox offers two types of plan/payment:
Once you have chosen which plan best suits your needs you can go to your Invitbox account's Admin tab > Account Summary > choose new plan. Note that if you have a parent/child setup, then you'll need to log into your parent account to purchase credits.
After selecting the plan you want you will be brought to the Monthly Plan screen initially. If you would prefer to buy Bulk credits, press View Bulk Buy Plans at the top right of the table.
Highlight the plan you want, then click Purchase.
For Bulk Buy (Credit Card or PayPal)
If you do not wish to pay with a PayPal account you can click on the lower button 'Pay With Credit or Debit Card' link (as shown in above image highlighted in yellow) and then enter your card and billing details to make a one-off payment.
OR To pay with your PayPal account, simply enter your email & password and log-in.
For Monthly plans (PayPal users only)
If you DO have a PayPal account;
As shown in below image highlighted in yellow, Simply click on the 'I already have a PayPal account' > 'LOG IN" > then enter the email address and the password of the PayPal account you want to use to make payments each month.
If you do NOT have a PayPal account you have the option of creating one, but if you don't want to then you'll need to purchase Bulk Buy credits.
To create one just click on the 'I need to create a PayPal account' and fill in the details & click Continue.
A payment will be charged to the debit or credit card you have provided, as will any future payments unless you change your payment method.
What if you are on a Bulk Buy & want to change to a Monthly Plan? Do you lose your credits?
If you are on a Bulk Buy and then purchase a monthly plan, your remaining Bulk Buy credits will roll over, but if you have not used them by the time the monthly plan resets in a month's time, then you will lose them.
What do you do if you have a Monthly Plan & want to change to Bulk Buy? and will you lose your current credits?
The first step is to cancel your monthly plan and then purchase the Bulk Buy plan. You will not lose your current monthly plan credits as these last 30 days from the day you purchased them, then when you purchase your Bulk Buy credits they will go on top of these and have a 6 month expiry date. Also note that if you purchase another Bulk Buy plan before the 6 month expiry date, then the Bulk Buy credits will roll over for you.
Step 1: Cancel your monthly plan; (DO NOT click on 'Suspend Account' in the Account Summary as this is not relating to payments)
Firstly log into your invitbox account, then go to the Admin tab> Account Summary> Switch/Cancel > Cancel Plan and this will redirect you to PayPal where you need to log in to your PayPal account > then click Profile at the top of the page > My Money or My Wallet > Click on Active Subscriptions and select the Invitbox subscription> Cancel Profile> it will then ask you if you're certain you want to delete the profile> then click OK.
Having problems cancelling ? or do you have a business account? If you are having difficulty finding the right section to cancel your plan then just go to the top of the menu in PayPal and select MORE> SITE MAP> then under the heading TOOLS you will see Manage Subscription Payments. From here you can cancel your active Invitbox subscription.

Step 2: Buy a Bulk Buy:
You'll need to go back to your Invitbox Account> Admin Tab> Account Summary > then select 'Choose New Plan', then select 'View Bulk Buy Plans'. This will re-direct you to the PayPal website again and you can then pay by either credit card or using your PayPal account.
To pay with a credit or debit card, just click on the link below the PayPal login section. Or to pay with your PayPal account, simply log-in.
What if I want to change my monthly plan (make it lower or higher)?
You can lower or higher your plan anytime you like. You can even change it now, so it will be different when it renews automatically. For eg if today is the 13th Feb and your plan is due to renew on the 27th Feb, then you can make the change today, so that when the 27th Feb arrives, it will renew with your new plan amount. To do this log into your invitbox account, then go to the Admin tab> Account Summary> Switch/Cancel > highlight the plan you want to change to> Click on Switch> this will direct you to PayPal website where you need to log in to your PayPal account to verify the change.
Or if you have run out of credits and you're not near your renew date & want to buy a new higher or lower plan, then you can do this by first cancelling your current plan (Cancel Plan instructions are a little further down in this article), then after you have done this you need to go back to your Invitbox Admin Tab> Account Summary and select Choose New Plan, highlight the plan you want to buy> click Purchase> this will direct you to PayPal website where you need to log in to your PayPal account to complete the purchase. Note that if you have credits remaining and cancel your plan and purchase another, then you'll lose those remaining credits. In this case it's best to use those credits first by exporting the same amount of invoices as the amount of credits you have.
How to change the payment method that PayPal uses to bill you each month:
This is a setting you need to change within PayPal so you will need to log straight into your PayPal account and then go to Your Profile and then update the 'My Pre-approved Payments' or 'Subscriptions' section with the new financial information.
To add, edit, change or remove your credit or debit cards:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Profile at the top of the page,
- Click My money. (If you dont see Profile>Money then click on 'Wallet')
- Click Update beside Credit and Debit cards.
If you can't find where to do this, then try the PayPal Sitemap
If you use all of your credits before your renew date you can choose to either:
- (a) Wait for the monthly billing cycle renewal date and new credits to be allocated to you
- (b) You can cancel your current plan and make another monthly plan.
- (c) Buy top up credits to get you through to the monthly billing cycle renewal date; You should be aware that top-up credits will expire at end of the monthly billing cycle, so only top up with what you need to get you through.
- (d) Contact us and borrow a few credits, then once your plan renews we will minus them from your account
To cancel your monthly plan:
(Note that the following instructions may differ if PayPal have updated their site, but the basics should be the same)
