Acting as a Parent during the invitbox shutdown
As we have mentioned previously, only users with Admin privileges of Parent and Standalone invitbox accounts are able to choose one of MIGRATE, FILINGCABINET and DOWNLOAD options during the invitbox shutdown period.
!!! Important for you to understand !!!
Admins of Parents
If you are the Admin of a Parent, whichever of the 3 options you choose will commit the Parent and each of your Child accounts to that option, and you will NOT be able to undo your decision.
If you wish for any of your Child accounts to not take the option you are making as a Parent, please send us a support ticket and we will work with you to remove those Child accounts from your Parent/Child structure prior to you choosing one of the 3 options.
Some things to consider if Child accounts have different needs
- If you are wanting to MIGRATE even some (or all) of your Child accounts to Lightyear, unless you specifically prefer to use the DOWNLOAD option for a few of them (and holding their historical bill data locally), you may as well just leave them all in your current Parent/Child structure, and click the MIGRATE option, bringing them all across to Lightyear. There's no cost to you (or them) to have their data stored by Lightyear for the remainder of the regulatory period.
- If you choose to MIGRATE all your Child accounts across to Lightyear, after you do so, and from within Lightyear you can then decide to 'suspend' the Child account (thereby just using the Lightyear filingcabinet for them), or alternatively 'download' the data from Lightyear (and then delete the data from Lightyear servers)
In short, there is no financial or functional downside to using the MIGRATE option for all of your Child accounts.
